Salisbury Musical Society with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Chorus

Salisbury Musical Society will sing:

Vaughan Williams: Fantasia on a theme by Tallis;

Paul Carr: Awakening;

Hubert Parry: Blest Pair of Sirens

Carr’s music is well-known to Radio 3 listeners; Awakening has been specially commissioned by Bournemouth Symphony Chorus and SMS.

Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra will accompany the concert, its first collaboration with SMS for many years. The orchestra serves the South and South-West of England, and also has a national and international reputation.

The conductor will be the Cathedral’s Director of Music, David Halls.

Salisbury Musical Society is a mixed choir of about 120 voices. We perform major classical choral works in public concerts that are normally given in Salisbury Cathedral, three times a year, accompanied by a full orchestra.
