Salisbury Musical Society: Handel’s Coronation Anthems

Salisbury Musical Society sing a programme of English music celebrating King Charles’s coronation. It includes Handel’s four magnificent Coronation Anthems, commissioned for the coronation of George II in 1727:

Zadok the Priest
Let Thy Hand be Strengthened
The King shall Rejoice
My Heart is Inditing

Also on the programme are Hubert Parry’s ‘I was glad’ and ‘Blest pair of sirens’

This concert will be conducted by the Cathedral’s Assistant Director of Music, John Challenger.
