SALISBURY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

Formed as the Salisbury Orchestral Society in 1917 under the presidency of Sir Edward Elgar and the baton of the organist of Salisbury Cathedral, Sir Walter Alcock, membership of the orchestra is drawn from a wide variety of musicians, most of whom live within a 30 mile radius of Salisbury.
