Reflection in words and music for International Women’s Day

A partnership event between Multitude of Voyces C.I.C, Godolphin School, St Edmund’s Girls School, South Wilts Grammar School, Sarum Academy and representatives of several church and community groups in Salisbury, to celebrate International Women’s Day.

This event will feature original compositions from schoolpupils at Sarum Academy and St Edward’s Girls Schools, supported by Louise Jordan, Wiltshire Music Associate, and commissions by composers Carol Jones, Hilary Campbell and Gemma McGregor to be sung by Godolphin Vocal Ensemble.

The event will be attended by Judith Weir, Master of the Queen’s Music, to hear the world premiere of her work ‘We sekyn here rest’, which will be performed by Godolphin Vocal Ensemble, directed by Olivia Sparkhall, with Katie Salomon, (harp).

Women from many organisations across our city will come together to reflect on the themes of Welcome, Welfare and Wellness, and the presentation will incorporate research into the lives of historical Salisbury women and their modern counterparts working in our Health and Welfare organisations.
