50th Anniversary Gala Summer Concert including Mozart’s ‘Coronation’ Mass and Rutter’s Birthday Madrigals

Conductor Stephen Abbott with Andrew Post as accompanist.As well as Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Rutter’s Birthday Madrigals, the choir will sing anthems by Stanford, Rutter, Chilcott, Halls (50th Anniversary Commission ) and Abbott (First Performance). This is a Gala concert celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the founding of our choir by John Powell MBE.

SAINT JOHN SINGERS

St John Singers was founded almost 50 years ago by John Powell MBE our Emeritus Director of Music. We are a mixed choir of some fifty voices with members coming from Salisbury and the surrounding area. The choir enjoys a varied repertoire covering sacred and secular music from the Tudor period to the present day. Our concerts have supported nearly two hundred different charities over the years, raising significant funds for them.
